OmniFocus has been a favorite task manager amongst productivity nerds for a long time, and with version 3 for Mac it's gotten even better. In this first part of our series on OmniFocus 3 for macOS, Mike walks you through the app interface and explains the basic concepts you need to know to start getting things done.

In OmniFocus 3 for iOS we got custom repeats, and these have been brought over to the Mac as well. The place where this really shows is in the monthly where you can specify that a task should repeat on day X of the month, or you can specify a repeat on the y th z day of each month (e.g. The second Tuesday). For those new to OmniFocus 3, it is the same, extremely powerful, task manager with even more flexibility than before. OmniFocus has many ways to capture tasks — from quick entry and services on the Mac, to the share sheet and 3D Touch on iOS — and of course you can use AppleScript, URL Schemes, and Shortcuts too.
