A week ago, Fallon issued a brief apology on Twitter for wearing blackface while impersonating Chris Rock for a 2000 “Saturday Night Live” sketch, calling the decision “terrible”. Pass the hand sanitizer and the laughs. Twitter is already celebrating new COVID-19 traditions for Thanksgiving and we are feeling thankful.
A tweet from late-night host Jimmy Fallon got the trend rolling. “It's Hashtags time! Tweet a Thanksgiving tradition updated for 2020 and tag it with #NewThanksgivingTraditions. Could be on the show!”
Then Fallon offered a tweet of his own: “The turkey now pardons the president. #NewThanksgivingTraditions.”
Among the traditions served up by the coronavirus Thanksgiving crowd: Tell your racist uncle you're getting together on Zoom this year then mute him. And this year Dr. Fauci will headline the Macy’s parade instead of Santa to hand out face masks and vaccines.

Now social distancing and other COVID-19 restrictions are threatening Thanksgiving plans just when we need the comfort of holiday meals with far-flung family and friends the most.
A little good humor went a long way on Twitter. Bill Bradley put it this way: “At least listing ‘Things we're thankful for’ this year will go pretty fast.'
